On Wednesday the Granite City CEO students met with Mr. Nicol from Nicol Financial Services. We went over a lot about sales priorities and scripting. The first sale being selling yourself, Mr. Nicol says this is a constant process in business. He says to ask yourself, “would you buy it, would you do business with you.” Image, or your appearance also plays a factor in selling yourself, he says people will prejudge your language, knowledge and appearance when they first meet you. The second sale was the appointment or meeting, the third was concept: what you're selling and why. Next we started talking about the power of scripting. He showed us an example of tonality as well, we each said the exact same sentence but each sounded like they had different meanings. “It’s not what you say, It’s how you say it”, we really liked this phrase and thought the exercise fit perfectly with it. Mr. Nicol showed us a lot about how to make sales and be an entrepreneur. The advice was really helpful, we hope to meet with him again soon!
