On Thursday the Granite City CEO students spoke to Mrs. Dawn Mushill, Executive Director of the Troy/Maryville/Marine/St. Jacob Chamber of Commerce. She spoke to us about how to be an owner of our program rather than a renter. She told us about how our actions, as CEO students, reflect the program itself, so we must set a positive example. Aside from that, we must also set a positive example for each other. Being positive is a big part of being productive. When you have a positive attitude, you can have a more productive day yourself, while also encouraging others to do the same. We also spoke about some negative things that we shouldn’t do. A “renter,” constantly watches the clock, calls off sick/late when they aren’t, trash talks on social media, etc. To put this in perspective, Mrs. Mushill said,”If you were a business owner, you wouldn’t want your employees doing these things.” We always enjoy speaking with Mrs. Mushill and listening to all of the knowledge she gives us, especially the interactive portions of our meetings. We all hope to speak with her again in the future!
