🌟 MEET THE BOARD MEMBER MONDAY 🌟

Today we’re excited to introduce Karen Greenwald!

Karen is a lifelong Granite City resident, retired educator, and longtime supporter of the Granite City CEO program. After earning her accounting degree from Illinois State University, Karen spent time in the corporate world before beginning a 25-year teaching career at Coolidge Junior High and Granite City High School.

One of the highlights of her career was serving as the Granite City CEO Facilitator from 2014–2020. Through CEO, Karen gained an even deeper appreciation for Granite City, our local businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.

💡 Her advice to CEO students:
“Get out of your comfort zone. Ask questions. Embrace every speaker, business visit, and learning opportunity. Take notes, keep them handy, and always be a lifelong learner.”

Outside of CEO, Karen serves as Treasurer of the Granite City Area Community Foundation, enjoys traveling with her husband Jim, spending time with their four grandchildren, and playing in three golf leagues!

✨ Fun Facts:
📣 Karen was a GCHS wrestling cheerleader in the 1970s!
⛳ She scored a hole-in-one at Osage National in 2023!

We’re grateful for Karen’s years of dedication to CEO students and the Granite City community. ❤️
