2026-2027 Granite City CEO Participants...

My name is Francisco Rios, and I’m an 18-year-old student at Granite City High School. I’m someone who believes that hard work, dedication, and being involved in your community can shape who you become.

I love cake, and I like to think I’m a lot like one—I'm made up of many different layers and ingredients that all come together to make me who I am. Every experience I’ve had has added another layer to who I am.

I’m very involved in my community and take pride in being someone others can count on. I have a strong work ethic no matter what I’m doing.

I played football for three years and wrestled for one, which taught me discipline, teamwork, commitment, and how to keep pushing even when things get difficult.

One of the things I’m most proud of is starting a grass-cutting business with a friend when I was just 12 years old. I’ve been cutting grass ever since. Starting that business at a young age taught me responsibility, and the value of earning something through your own hard work.

I know that my experiences, work ethic, and commitment to my community will continue to shape the person I become.
