On Tuesday, September 28th, the Granite City CEO Program worked with 1st MidAmerica Credit Union. Each student received a job and a salary. They also were told that they were married and added their spouse's income with their income. That total became their total for the month. They also received a credit card, a credit score and a family to take care of.
The students had several real life stations to visit where 1st Mid America employees helped students make choices. They had to purchase item for themselves, spouse and family member. They had to purchase a car that matched their credit score. They also had to purchase somewhere to live along with other day to day items. Students even had to buy something to treat themselves.
It was an eye opening experience to see how expensive day to day expenses are.
