Fatima Bucio

About Me

Fatima Bucio proudly balances a very busy calendar with extensive volunteerism and academics. These include membership on GCHS Student Council for three years, Foreign Language Club, and as a charter member of Warrior Flock. Fatima was selected to serve as a member of the Mannie Jackson Center for the Humanities Foundation. During the summer, she volunteers for the Twigs Organization, which provides free lunches for children. She enjoys her community service, which includes community clean-up projects and volunteering her time at Happy Trails Farm. Fatima’s hobbies include experimenting with new vegetarian recipes, painting, yoga, dancing, and playing the drums.

Following her high school career, she plans to attend Southwestern Illinois College to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. In the meantime, Fatima is actively taking the first step to achieving her dreams by job shadowing a nurse practitioner at a local hospital. Fatima is now the owner of Grounded,  an all natural, handmade lotion bar line. After realizing the dangers of putting harsh chemicals on her skin, she decided to make her own with all natural ingredients.

“The greatest thing about CEO, to me, has been the connections that I have made. I have met so many amazing individuals and built many great relationships in the class. Everyday brings a new experience, a new story, and a new relationship and I'm incredibly grateful for that and for this whole CEO experience”.
