About Me

Joshua Royce is an accomplished leader and innovative thinker. He is a three-year letterman of the Varsity Cross Country team at Granite City High School. He is currently employed as an operator at the AutoSpa Carwash. Scouting programs, like the Boy Scouts of America, have been a major influence in Josh’s life. He joined the Cub Scouts when he was in 1st grade and has been involved ever since. He recently completed his Eagle Scout project at the Chouteau Island Nature Trails and will be obtaining his Eagle Scout rank in the next few months. Josh has been a Job Shadow participant at GCHS the past two years.

In his free time, he enjoys listening to vinyl records and playing the keyboard. Josh has always had a burning desire to become a musician. He was recently accepted to Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and plans to pursue a degree in entrepreneurship. As an entrepreneur, Josh’s current startup, Rock’N Records, is a business focusing on: Vintage Vinyl Records, Restorations, and Repairs. Josh said he likes to work with his hands and is “into anything rusty and dusty”...or in other words, he is into antiques and things that are old and have a vintage look. He would love to own a “brick and mortar” for Rock’N Records within the next couple of years. Josh served as the Chief Executive Officer for the CEO class’s business this year and plans to use this experience in his personal entrepreneurial career pursuits.

“I feel like this program is shaping who I am as a person. I am starting to show up places five minutes early; instead of five minutes late. The soft skills that I am learning through the CEO class are extremely valuable and I plan on using them for the rest of my life. I have been looking forward to this class since my freshman year in high school, and I am excited that it is finally here. I plan to continue my personal business, Rock’N Records, after high school. Everything I have learned and will learn in this class is setting the stage for who I will become as a person.”
